My civil society work centers on feminist organizing and survivor-led justice under conditions of conflict and exile. Over the past decade, I have worked closely with survivors, women’s movements, and grassroots organizations in Syria and internationally.

Don’t Suffocate the Truth
Chair & Co-Founder · 2017 – present
I co-founded and lead Don’t Suffocate the Truth, a survivor-centered campaign confronting denial of chemical weapons attacks in Syria. The work centers survivors’ testimony, challenges disinformation, and advances truth-seeking and accountability initiatives with Syrian and international partners.
Kesh Malek
Co-Founder & Executive Director · 2014 – 2017
I served as Executive Director of Kesh Malek during the height of the Syrian conflict, leading education and civic-engagement programs in opposition-held areas.
Kesh Malek played a central role in sustaining local education and civic initiatives when formal institutions collapsed.
Action for Sama
From 2019 to 2020, I crafted advocacy and communications strategies for the impact campaign of For Sama, the Oscar-nominated documentary, and co-authored speeches and statements delivered at UN Security Council briefings and international events. In 2026, I worked with Action for Sama as main researcher and conference manager of Aleppo Remembers, a conference series on memory and transitional justice in Aleppo that brought together 200 participants.

Strategy for Madaniya’s Founding Conference
I designed and facilitated the founding conference of Madaniya, which brought together more than 150 Syrian civil society groups.

Communication Strategy for the Syrian Women’s Political Movement
I developed the founding communications strategy of this feminist movement for women’s participation in peace and governance, and trained its first team.
